This caricature was published by the French magazine LE RIRE, (THE
SMILE or THE LAUGH), on May 5, 1898, four days after the Battle
of Manila Bay/Cavite. It pertains to the collection of a Spanish
gentlemen
named Manuel Gramunt de Moragas. The cartoon depicts a "McKinley"
battleship sinking a small battleship of young Spanish king, Alfonso
XIII.
The caption read "The era of chivalry has ended...nowadays only blood
and
iron rule."
