This half-dollar-sized medal was awarded to volunteers who served in
the 6th Missouri Volunteer Infantry. The
regiment
served in the occupation forces in Cuba
The obverse of the medal shows the crossed rifles of the infantry
and reads "U.S.V. 6th Missouri"
The reverse reads"Enlisted for Spanish American War at St. Louis
July 1898 Mustered Out at Camp Onward May 10th 1899"
