Below is the obituary for Henry Mershon of the 3rd Georgia Volunteer Infantry. He was buried at Tucumcari Memorial Park Cemetery, Tucumcari, Quay County, New Mexico.



The Obituary:

Henry L. Mershon Dies In Hospital

Henry Love Mershon, a resident of Tucumcari for 15 years, died this morning at Tucumcari General Hospital. He was 78 years old.

Born in Taliffera county, Georgia,Mr. Mershon was a veteran of the Spanish American War, a member of the Center Street Methodist Church, and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Survivors include one daughter,Ardene Mershon of Tucumcari, three brothers, A.A., of Greenville,S.C.;Walter, and Henry E., of Miami, Fla.

Four sisters also survive: Mrs. John Chapman, Camack, Ga.;Mrs. Thomas W. Gheesling, Springfield, Ill.; Mrs. W.A. Mason, Memphis, Tenn.; and Mrs. Z.T. Johnson, Willmore, Ky.

Funeral arrangements are pending the notification of the relatives. Services are in the charge of Doughty’s Funeral Home.
