September 20-21, 2008 – Philadelphia – The Independence Seaport Museum,
caretaker of Cruiser OLYMPIA, will host an event
aboard ship. The historic vessel, located at Penn’s Landing, will be brought
to life by the “Living History Crew of the USFS OLYMPIA.”
The crew will demonstrate gun drills, signaling, conduct tours of an engine
room, and provide “Life of the Sailor and Marine” presentations. In addition,
the crew will present a dramatization of an Officers’ Luncheon and interact
in character with the public. The ship will be open from 10:00 AM to 5:00
PM each day. The museum is located at Independence Seaport Museum is located

Beginning March, 1998: Ybor City, FL - In the heart of the Latin District, the Ybor City Campus of Hillsborough Community College has a FLORIDA HISTORY INTERNET PROJECT. Starting in March there will be a special section of the Project dedicated to the war, including VIRTUAL TAMPA 1898, VIRTUAL YBOR CITY 1898, VIRTUAL PORT TAMPA 1898 etc.... the site will have guided tours of the remaining buildings and sites of the Spanish-American War.
